METALLICA: Helsinki Concert Tickets Sell Out - And Resurface On Auction Sites

October 21, 2008

Helsingin Sanomat reports that all tickets for two METALLICA concerts to be held in the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland next June were sold within 40 minutes after they went on sale Monday morning (October 20).

The last time METALLICA played in Helsinki it was at the Olympic Stadium in July 2007, with a capacity of 44,000.

Now there were just 26,000 tickets available for the two June dates, and supply and demand were naturally rather out of balance. Attempts were made to prevent black market gouging by limiting purchases to two tickets per person.

In actual fact, it was possible with some luck and perseverance to buy tickets nearly all day, as returns trickled back into the system.
